Complete Storyline and information about Zack Snyder’s Justice League.
After the death of Superman (Henry Cavill), a dark shadow settles over the DC Universe. Batman (Ben Affleck) realizes the gravity of the situation and decides to gather a superhero team to brave the danger.
Together with Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher), he stands in the way of the nasty Steppenwolf (Ciarán Hinds), who wants to take over the world with his army of parademon.
Gradually, however, it turns out that Steppenwolf is not the only villain who makes life difficult for the superheroes. In the background, an even more powerful villain is pulling the strings: Darkseid (Ray Porter).
Background and info on Zack Snyder’s Justice League
During the production of Justice League, Zack Snyder resigned as director for family reasons. As a result, Joss Whedon, who previously directed the first two Avengers films for Marvel, took the helm and adapted the film to his vision through extensive reshoots.
However, Justice League, which subsequently hit theaters in November 2017, received a very divided reception from fans. As a result, calls for Zack Snyder’s version of the film, known as the Snyder Cut, grew louder on the Internet under the hashtag #ReleaseTheSnyderCut.
Over time, the movement also found prominent supporters* like large parts of the cast, although for a long time it was unclear whether the Snyder Cut even existed. In May 2020, Zack Snyder’s Justice League was officially announced for Warner’s freshly launched streaming service HBO Max.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League reportedly gobbled up an additional $70 million budget. Not only did the music have to be completely replaced and the special effects completed: Around four minutes of new footage were created during subsequent filming.
Cyborg’s background story in particular was expanded. In addition, Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad makes an appearance. The final version of the film runs four hours, is divided into six chapters and an epilogue, and has a 4:3 aspect ratio. In theaters, Justice League was seen in 16:9.
Zack Snyder’s Justice League premiered on HBO Max on March 18, 2021. In Germany, the film was released simultaneously on Sky. In addition, a DVD and Blu-ray release was announced for May 27, 2021. (MH)
