Complete Storyline and information about Vivo
Vivo may look like a monkey, but he is actually a coiled bear (or honey bear). His best friend is old Andrés. Andrés is a human being, but that’s not a problem, because the music that the two of them perform every day in a square in Latin America has bonded them for years.
But then a letter reaches Andrés: World-renowned singer Marta Sandoval is going to give a farewell concert in Miami and invites him. Andrés even wrote a love song for the talented woman a long time ago, but because he can no longer deliver it himself, it is now up to Vivo to deliver the special message.
Getting to the US state of Florida and the city of Miami, however, is easier said than done. Such a challenge can only be overcome with the right help, and as luck would have it, the lively teenager Gabi, in whose suitcase Vivo is hiding, is ready for anything when it comes to the great love.
Background & info on Vivo
The music for Vivo was written by Lin-Manuel Miranda, who had already written the songs for Vaiana and who also lends his voice to the bear in the original. For the musical Vivo he wrote brand new songs.
Director Kirk De Micco had already dealt with animated primates before Vivo in Space Chimps (2008) and also directed the animated film The Croods (2013).
Vivo was originally at DreamWorks Animation, but migrated to Sony Pictures Animation in 2016, becoming the first animated musical for Sony. After The Mitchells vs. the Machines and The Wish Dragon, Vivo was the third animated film Sony released exclusively on Netflix in 2021. (ES)
