Complete Storyline and information about The Flash
Storyline of Flashpoint
Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) works as a forensic scientist for the Central City Police Department. Although he already has considerable skills in this field despite his young age, he is considered a rather slow representative of his species due to his accuracy. In his private life, Barry is also not very accurate with time.
This changes (lightning) abruptly when Barry is still working in the lab during a heavy thunderstorm night: An electrical discharge drives out of the sky directly into a shelf full of chemicals; Barry, who is standing next to it, gets soaked, electrocuted and loses consciousness. Shortly after his recovery, Allen notices serious changes in himself: He is suddenly able to interact with his surroundings at lightning speed and move at the speed of light. The Flash is born!
Storyline of Flashpoint
Although there have already been two series of The Flash (on the one hand, The Flash from 1990 with John Wesley Shipp in the title role, and with The Flash (2014) another edition with Grant Gustin as the Red Flash), Flashpoint is the first time that the hero in red thread conquers the big screen in a solo adventure.
Barry Allen is the second incarnation of The Flash and made his first appearance in Showcase #4 (October 1956). He is thus considered a representative of the Silver Age. In contrast, the first Flash, Jay Garrick, who first appeared in the 1940 anthology Flash Comics, represents the Golden Age. While he was a member of the glorious Justice Society of America, Allen belongs to the Justice League of America.
Ezra Miller (We Need to Talk About Kevin, Maybe Tomorrow is Better) gets his first stand-alone appearance as The Flash with Flashpoint. Viewers already caught a brief glimpse of him in his role as Barry Allen in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. (EM)
