Complete Storyline and information about Space Jam: A New Legacy

After the Looney Tunes, i.e. Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester and Co. turned the life of basketball player Michael Jordan upside down in the 1990s, the sports-loving cartoon characters return to the real world once again in Space Jam 2. Or rather the other way around:

Because this time the animals clash with NBA star LeBron James and his family. It all starts when LeBron’s son Dom is abducted into a digital world by an evil artificial intelligence. Only when the Looney Tunes get together to form a basketball team can a catastrophe perhaps still be averted. But the opponents they finally face on the court consist of absolute professional athletes. The only thing that can help them is to use all the tricks at their disposal. Only then can father and son perhaps reunite and surprises still happen.

Background & info on Space Jam 2

There was already talk of a sequel to Space Jam after its theatrical release. However, this did not happen because Michael Jordan refused to return for a sequel. After that, spin-off ideas about famous athletes such as racing driver Jeff Gordon, golfer Tiger Woods and skateboarder Tony Hawk circulated, but were also not pursued further.

In 2014, the Space Jam sequel starring basketball player LeBron James was finally announced, but took a few years to really get going. LeBron, meanwhile, was already gaining acting experience in films like Dating Queen. Filming on Fun Jam 2 finally began in the summer of 2019. (ES)
