Complete Storyline and information about Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

Thomas McGregor (Domhnall Gleeson) and Bea (Rose Byrne) get married. The rabbits – that is, Peter Rabbit as well as Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail – have become something like their extended family. But despite his best efforts, Peter has trouble shaking off his reputation as a good-for-nothing. When the newlyweds go on vacation and admonish him in particular not to get into mischief, he has had enough: he runs away from home.

Outside the garden at home, the world looks very different: Here, chaos is still appreciated and life is an adventure. When he meets the daredevil rabbit Barnabas, who introduces himself as an old friend of Peter’s father, the runaway joins him. Meanwhile, his family risks everything in search of the missing Peter to bring him back home. Peter, however, must first figure out for himself what kind of rabbit he wants to be.

Background & Info on Peter Rabbit 2: The Runaway

Like Part 1, Peter Rabbit (2018), the sequel is based on the children’s book characters dreamed up by author Beatrix Potter in 1902.

For the production of the sequel, Will Gluck returned once again to the director’s chair and was once again able to gather around him the famous original voice actors (James Corden, Daisy Ridley, Elizabeth Debicki and Margot Robbie) and main actors (Domhnall Gleeson and Rose Byrne) of the first film.

A scene already seen in the trailer, in which Peter Rabbit gets his paws stuck in drying cement, has already appeared in this form in another animated film with a rabbit main character: Zoomania.

James Corden had already lent his voice to other animated films besides Peter Rabbit, such as Emoji – The Movie and Trolls 2. (ES)
