Complete Storyline and information about No Sudden Move.

In 1955, Detroit is a rapidly changing city torn apart by tensions, where people of different skin colors clash: A group of petty criminals, led by Ronald Russo (Benicio Del Toro) and Curt Goynes (Don Cheadle), are hired for a seemingly simple job in these uncertain times: steal a single document.

But the job goes terribly wrong. They discover that they have not been given all the facts. So the troupe sets off in search of the string-puller. In the process, they want to find out not only who hired them, but above all why. Was there a higher purpose behind it? Were they just pawns in a much bigger chess game they didn’t know about?

Background & Info on No Sudden Move

In 2019, it was announced that Steven Soderbergh would be directing a film called Kill Switch. The movie title was later changed to No Sudden Move. Initially, actors Sebastian Stan, John Cena and Josh Brolin were linked to the project alongside Don Cheadle, although the latter soon left the project due to scheduling difficulties and was replaced by Jon Hamm.

Filming on No Sudden Move was originally scheduled to begin in April 2020, but delays were unavoidably caused by the Corona pandemic, which is why filming did not resume until September in Detroit. However, due to the shift in schedule, Stan, Cena, as well as stars George Clooney and Nicolas Cage, who were also hired, could no longer be with the film and had to be replaced. (ES)
