When young Bloom discovers that she is a fairy, she has to get used to her new life in the magical Otherworld, where she is sent to the school Alfea. Here she must bring her magical powers under control, while plagued by self-doubt she must find her place in this new world.

Main Characters of Fate: The Winx Saga

Bloom (Abigail Cowen) is a fire fairy and grew up among humans in California. Now she learns about the magical Otherworld and her origins for the first time. She is rebellious and doesn’t let anyone tell her what to do.

Stella (Hannah van der Westhuysen) is a light fairy and comes from a good family. She is highly respected by her classmates and is always concerned about her external image. But inside she feels deep loneliness.

Musa (Elisha Applebaum) is a mental fairy and can perceive the feelings of those around her. She is socially isolated and tries to avoid human interaction by escaping into the world of music.

Aisha (Precious Mustapha) is a water fairy. She is athletic, needs to be physically active all the time, and is full of ambition. In Alfea, she learns for the first time what friendship really means.

Terra (Eliot Salt) is an earth fairy with an always positive outlook. Since her father works as a botany teacher in Alfea, she grew up on the school grounds and knows her way around.

Iginio Straffi is the creator of the successful Italian animated series Winx Club. As early as 2011, he expressed his plan to eventually implement a live action version of his series. In March 2018, it was finally announced that the streaming service Netflix would implement Winx Club as a live action series for young adults.

Serving as showrunner of Fate: The Winx Saga is Brian Young, while Judy Counihan, Kris Thykier, and Iginio Straffi are among the executive producers. After a casting process in the summer of 2019, filming for Season 1 was able to begin in September 2019 and continued through December 2019. Filming took place in the Irish town of Wicklow and the Ashford Studios located there, where the history series Vikings as well as the Netflix series Vikings: Valhalla were also produced.
