Complete Storyline and information about Dear Evan Hansen

Evan Hansen (Ben Platt) is an outsider and suffers from severe anxiety disorders. He finds support from his mother Heidi (Julianne Moore), but as a nurse she is hardly ever at home. As an assignment from his therapist, Evan is supposed to write letters to himself to boost his self-confidence. By an unfortunate coincidence, Evan’s rebellious classmate Connor Murphy (Colton Ryan) gets hold of his letter.

When he takes his own life a short time later, Connor’s parents Cynthia (Amy Adams) and Larry (Danny Pino) find Evan’s letter and believe that their son wrote it to his best friend. They barely knew their son and want to find out more about Connor through Evan.

Overwhelmed by the Murphys’ warmth, Evan pretends to have been Connor’s best friend and in the process gets closer to his grieving sister Zoe (Kaitlyn Dever), for whom he has secretly had feelings for some time. But the lie takes on greater proportions as Evan Hansen launches an online campaign to honor Connor.
